Back in the '60s, when I first got into making music, Paul Simon wrote this
lyric: "People writing songs that voices never share." That has always
haunted me.
It's my prayer that you might find a song or two among the ones I've
written over the past 40 years that speaks to you. And if you want to sing
along with me, or do your own version of it with your voice and your
instrument, I will indeed be blessed.
Not all my songs are expressions of the Christian faith, but the best ones
are.
From the days when "my mind was wracked with drugs, and I didn't know
what's real"
... to raising children ("My child, you came from love, and love will be your
home forever")
... to Bible stories ("He got inside my head, you know, and I'm ready to
prophesy: Nineveh, get ready – God's comin' and you gonna die")
... to meditations and worship of our God ( "In wind and song I still belong,
praising all the beauty that is You")
... songs have been the common thread through the ups and downs of this
servant-in-training.
God has been so faithful to me, more than I could ever be, and it is in
obedience and a desire to serve both my King and my brothers and sisters
that I submit to you my music.

Lift up Jesus!
